Dr. Marjorie Silverman, founder, has had a distinguished career in the education of women, serving as a dean at Barnard College of Columbia University where she has also taught in the psychology department. She has a Ph.D. and Ed.M. in Psychology from Columbia University. She received a B.S. and M.A. in Educational Psychology from New York University. She has produced and directed a series of educational documentary films on the multicultural student experience in college. Dr Silverman created The S Cubed Program, which brings female high school students to the college campus to study math and science. Her research and writing focuses on female identity development, college retention and inventive administrative models to respond to more challenging college students. She has served on the boards of multiple academic institutions, arts organizations and museums.
