Lizabeth H. Zlatkus an insurance industry veteran, with broad experience in P&L management, finance and risk. She held many senior leadership positions during her 28 year tenure at The Hartford Financial Services Group, including her roles as Chief Financial Officer, Chief Risk Officer, as well as Co-President of Hartford Life Insurance Companies. Zlatkus is adept at setting a strategy and delivering upon it, enhancing revenue, market share and profitability. She is proficient at assessing risk and reward, particularly around complex financial issues, and is skilled in making the required decisions. She has run both domestic and international businesses. Zlatkus has extensive C-Suite experience including her work with Hartford’s BOD. She is a strong communicator and works well with all constituencies, in both the business and Not-for Profit communities.
Zlatkus has been recognized for her professional achievements and contributions to the community. In 1999, she participated as a member of The President’s Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities; Business Insurance magazine named her as one of the top 100 women executives in 2000 and 2006; The Hartford Business Journal named Zlatkus one of its “Eight Remarkable Women” in 2008; and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation recognized Zlatkus as its 2009 Connecticut Community Leader of the Year. Zlatkus formerly served on the Hewlett-Packard Financial Services Board of Advisors and the LOMA Board of Directors. She also served as Regulatory Chair for the North American Chief Risk Officer’s Council. She currently serves on Penn State’s SMEAL Business School Board of Visitors and as a Trustee of the Connecticut Science Center. Zlatkus graduated with distinction from The Pennsylvania State University in 1981 and was selected as an Alumni Fellow in 2003.
